The picture above shows Perfect Fit Blinds fitted for Conservatory Blinds
Choosing conservatory blinds can be very overpowering when it comes to knowing which types of blinds are suitable and which options are best for your type of conservatory. We have taken some of the most common styles that customers have asked us for guidance and have come up with a summary of what we feel make the best conservatory blinds.
Vertical Blinds
These types of blinds are fine for blinds in a conservatory, but they are only suitable for the side windows and they have to be moved if fitted over doorways in order to use the door. There are some more sophisticated fabrics for vertical blinds, available today that have a heat reflective coating on the back of the fabric this, of course, helps keep the conservatory cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter but only to a certain degree. The main downside to vertical blinds as conservatory blinds, or in fact any window blind, is that they take up all or most of your window sill, so if you like ornaments or flowers in your conservatory keep this point in mind when choosing your conservatory blinds
Roller Blinds
These types of blinds are also fine for blinds in a conservatory, but they are only really suitable for the side windows and again they have to be moved if fitted over doorways to be able to use the door, unless the blind is actually fitted to the door itself, which isn't the best idea. You can also have Roller Blinds fitted to the conservatory roof but we do not recommend this as they are unsightly, hard to operate and sag over time. There are some more sophisticated fabrics available today that have a heat reflective coating on the back of the fabric this, of course, helps keep the conservatory cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter but only to a certain degree. Another downside of using roller blinds as conservatory blinds is that you need to allow for the window and door handles, plus the gaps between the roller blind fabrics especially in the corners.
Perfect Fit Venetian Blinds
Perfect Fit Blinds are probably the best solution for conservatory blinds, with perfect fit venetian blinds being one of the most versatile. If you are more concerned about privacy but still want to sit and view your garden then perfect fit venetian blinds are most suited to your application. As with all Perfect Fit and Intu blinds perfect fit venetian blind leave your widow sills completely clear.
Perfect Fit Roller Blinds
Perfect Fit Blinds are probably the best solution for conservatory blinds, with perfect fit roller blinds your choice of fabrics and colour scheme is much greater than perfect fit venetian blinds. There are also high performance solar protective fabrics in roller fabrics then help to keep your conservatory cool in the summer and save on heating bills in the winter. As with the perfect fit venetian blinds and the perfect fit pleated blinds these blinds leave your windoe sills clear and no holes are drilled into your conservatory for fitting.
Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds
We feel that Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds are the best solution for conservatory blinds, with perfect fit pleated blinds being designed for conservatories with their minimalist look and solar coated fabrics they make perfect sense. Perfect fit blinds are designed to sit on the beading of the Upvc window and they frame the fabric which makes them look fully integrated.
Intu Venetian Blinds
Intu Blinds are another great solution for conservatory blinds, similar to Perfect fit venetian Blinds but without the surrounding frame, with Intu venetian blinds you get one of the most versatile conservatory blinds. If you are more concerned about privacy but still want to sit and view your garden then Intu venetian blinds are most suited to your application. Unlike Perfect fit Venetian blinds Intu venetian blinds don't have a tilt rod for adjusting the venetian slats. Instead they have a clever slider on the top rail which makes these blinds even sleeker and more minimalst
Intu Roller Blinds
Intu Roller blinds are also a good option for conservatory blinds, they virtually give the same proficiency as the perfect fit roller blinds without the framed surround. Intu Roller Blinds, in our opinion, have a more minimalist top head rail and operate better than perfect fit roller blinds.
Intu Pleated Blinds
Intu Pleated Blinds are on par with the perfect fit pleated, they have the same fabrics available but we, in our opinion, would lean towards the perfect fit pleated blind as they are easier to fit and the surrounding frame finishes the blind off. However, having said that, the Intu Pleated Blind and the Intu mini pleated blind are ideal for Bi-fold doors.Whereas the perfect fit frame can sometime hinder the operation of the doors. You will need to contact us for more information on this.
